Hello everyone!
Good morning all, I hope everyone’s day is going wonderfully so far! So to kick off this post, last night I found out there was a job fair being held at the school in which I attended. I’ve been wanting to branch out to something in a different field job wise and I thought this could be a great opportunity for me, everything seemed to just have happened at the right time. In the email it was recommended to dress professionally, and when I read that my stomach sank a little. Professionally?! AHH. My mind went straight to a pair of dress pants and a blazer, but I don’t own anything like that. Since this was so last minute and I didn’t have time to buy anything, I quickly went on Pinterest and looked up some professional and casual outfit ideas for my age range since I’d have to be wearing this outfit to class as well. I didn’t want to look too dressed up but didn’t want to look like a bum. Overall, I came up with two different outfits that would’ve worked perfectly and had them prepared for the morning to decide on one! I thought it would be good to share with you guys here on my blog in case you’re ever in the last minute pickle like I was! SoOoOoo without further ado, let’s get started! 🙂
Outfit #1: Professional & Chic
Shirt: Hollister
Sweater: Target ($16.00)
Pants: Wet Seal
Boots: Wet Seal
Necklace: JCP
With the first outfit, I felt that I was bringing out my inner Blair Waldorf. I kind of used her style as an inspiration, but mixed it with clothing that would keep me warm without wearing a full-on jacket since it was in the 30s this morning! I’ve said this in a previous blog post before, but a little tip when it comes to layering a dress shirt/flannel with a sweater, wear a tank top onto of the shirt, but under the sweater. It’ll keep the shirt from folding up under your sweater and causing you to look lumpy and bumpy all over the place! This is the outfit I wore to class and the job fair.
#2: Casual & Trendy
Shirt: Marshalls ($12.99)
Pants: Wet Seal
Jacket: Marshalls ($49.99)
Flats: Target ($14.00)
Necklace: JCP
For my second outfit, I went with all black as my main focus because you can never go wrong with it! I finished the outfit with my soft army green jacket because of how comfortable it is, but it’s also trendy and dresses up the look. Oh, and it kept me warm! Either shoe would’ve worked well with either outfit also! I went with the booties for me just because it was chilly outside!
I think dressing professional, yet casual is easier than it sounds. If you’re unsure, stick to plain colors, make sure your body parts are covered, add a statement piece of jewelry, and keep hair and makeup simple! My job fair ended up being waylaid back then implied and I was worried for nothing, but I felt good in what I was wearing. I think I need to use Blair Waldorf’s style more regularly! I hope this post helped you guys or gave you some inspiration! Let me know which look was your favorite!
Well, that’s all for today’s post! Don’t forget to shoot me a message with blog requests, to chat, or share a simple comment. I may be trying something new in these next few days so stay tuned! As always, thank you so much for reading and visiting, my thankfulness for your support is endless. I hope you all have the best day, wish me luck on my tests. Talk to Y’all Friday! Xoxo.
Stay chic,
Lexi
