Hi friends! ❄️☃️🌨🌬
I’m so excited to be here talking to you lovely gals! My school break will be coming to an end after this weekend and I’m excited to have a fresh start! I hope you’ve all had a great week so far and are tackling everything with a positive attitude. I know it can be hard to get through these winter months with it being bitter cold, cloudy, and not to mention the snow. You guys know I hate the winter months soSOsoSo very much. If you’re anything like me these months tend to put me in a rut because of the weather, but don’t worry! I’ve got all of you beautiful girls covered with my six winter essentials to help us push through the cloudy days until spring rolls around together. So without further ado, let’s get started!
Oversized Sweaters
As soon as the cold months hit me here in PA, all I live in are big comfy sweaters as i’m sure many of you gals do too. Wearing an oversized sweater is such an easy look to wear. I love pairing them with bralettes and kinda letting them fall off my shoulder. They appear to be super chic, but really it feels like you’re wearing comfy cozy Pjs! It can’t get much better than that.
Turtle Necks
This has to be my favorite trend from this fall/winter season. I’m in loveeee with turtle necks.. and 8 year old Lex is dying on the inside because for the life of me I wouldn’t wear them as a child! Lol. Was anyone else like me? They definitely keep me extra warm on these chilly winter days and it makes the cold a little more bearable. Plus, It’s an easy outfit because the high necks complete the look, you don’t need a scarf or anything!
Vests
Omg, talk about younger Lex dying on the inside.. Five years ago I’d never be caught dead in a puffer vest, but here I am.. OBSESSED. I’ve bought six vests in the last year. It’s become a problem too. I pair them with turtle necks, sweaters, basic shirts, sweatershirts shirts, and flannels. I wear a vest with my outfit almost every day because it’s trendy this year and like I said earlier cold isn’t cute, so anything to stay warm is right up my alley this winter season!
Winter Puffer Coat
GUYS!! Invest in a good winter coat!! I’m so serious!! Puffer coats are trendy as heck this year. Trust me, I know coats can be super pricey but it’s worth the investment. This was the first time in years that I actually invested in a good coat and I’m so happy I did! This jacket is water resistant too which is a definite plus in my books. I know walking to class will be much easier with this warm coat!
Cozy Scarfs
Scarves save my life when it comes to those chilly winter mornings when you don’t want to leave your bed. (aka everyday for me) My favorite types of scarves would be infinity and blanket scaves. They keep ya extra warm and complete any boring outfit! Plus, scarves are normally inexpensive so you can buy a whole bunch without making your bank account drop. How could you not love them?! I’m obsessed!
Jeans/Leggings
As well as big cozy sweaters, I live in jeans and leggings as soon as the cold weather hits PA! Every girl needs a good pair of jeans and investing in good ones are well worth the money. My favorite place to buy jeans is American Eagle and Hollister is pretty good too! As for leggings, I’ve come to love Target’s and you can’t go wrong with Forever 21 because they’re so affordable. You can dress up or dress down either of these looks. Sweaters, turtlenecks, vest, and scarves all definitely look perfect with jeans or leggings!
Duck Boots/Rainboots + Warm Socks/Leg warmers
Duck boots are my “go to” shoe this winter. As well as rainboots, I have two pairs and I’ve already worn them a good bit and it’s only January! They’re stylish and warm, but also waterproof which is perfect for the slushy snow. I love pairing them with different types of boot socks or just good ole fuzzy socks to keep my little toes warm through out the day!
Well loves, that’s all for today’s post! Make sure ya’ll stay warm this season! I want to thank Dana for inspiring me to make this post!
