Hi, Y’all. Happy October! 🌻🍃🍂
Yes, I know. It’s Monday, but gals, I’m happy you’re here reading today’s post because it’s finally my favorite time of the year… blanket scarf weather! If there’s one item I’m guilty of over-buying during autumn, it’s anything and everything that falls into the category of cape, scarf, wrap or poncho. Since there are seemingly hundreds available at really great prices this year, they make for an easy, affordable means of switching up and adding a new aspect to the repeating of “sweater + jeans + boots rut…” which is one I fall into all too often. Anyone else with me? Blanket scarves are the easiest way to achieve that fall layered-up look and not to mention, it’s like a blanket around your neck. It couldn’t get more perfect than that! I’m very excited for this post, so without further ado, let’s get into today’s outfit!
Dress: Forever 21 ($3.99)
Boots: Marshalls ($24.99)
Scarf: Altar’d State – Gabes ($2.99)
Long-sleeved dresses are a wonderful way to dress for fall when the weather is still stuck between the seasons. They perfect for transitioning weather and I recommend finding one with a flowy fit and pair it with booties for an easy and fool-proof ensemble. I love the carefree vibe of this burnt orange dress paired with dark grey booties creates.
PS. I’ve received a few questions regarding how I tie my blanket scarves, so I thought I’d share a quick step-by-step below!
How To Tie A Blanket Scarf
1. Fold the scarf in half. It should look like a triangle.
2. Fold down the folded edge 6″ – 12″ towards yourself. In essence, you’re creating a slightly smaller triangle. This keeps the scarf from being too bulky around your neck.
3. Cross the two points behind your neck. Less is more! If you pull too tight, the scarf will look claustrophobic around your neck.
4. Tuck the two ends beneath the rest of the scarf. This creates a cleaner look and keeps your scarf from unwrapping itself. To secure further, fasten the two ends down with safety pins.
The more you practice, the easier this little method becomes! Best of luck and let me know if you have any questions!
Well, that’s all for today’s post. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did writing it! Don’t forget to shoot me a message with blog requests, to chat, or share a simple comment. Thank you so much for reading and visiting, my thankfulness for your support is endless. I hope you all have the best week, talk to Y’all Wednesday! Xoxo. 💋
Stay chic,
Lexi 🌻
