I’m so freeeeeeakin’ thrilled that the sun is peaking out a little after all the rain we got here in PA, I could definitely use it! Anyways, for today’s post, I’m excited to share one of my favorite collaborations ever. I hope you all enjoy and without further ado, let’s get into the post!

So first off, I know a lot of my readers out there range in ages which is what makes this so cool, you’re either in high school, college, graduated or out working in the real world. With both my jobs, blogging and being a full-time college student, I think you can share in my pain that I stare at a computer or I’m on my phone for hours on end, which is way too long and bad for my eyes. This is where the importance of good, protective eyewear comes in. Phonetic Computer Eyewear is a company that reached out to me at a perfect time. I know I mentioned in previous posts how awful my spring semester was (Hallelujah that is over and behind me), I would be staring at a computer screen for hours on end daily to get my assignments done. This went on for the whole semester at least six hours a night consistently and that’s not including the time spent on it for my other classes during the day. This caused some major complications for my eyes.

In March, I started to develop a chronic dry eye for the first time in my life. I now know this had to do with straining my eyes so much with my computer, thanks to multiple eye specialists I saw. I would be so involved in my school work that I must have stopped blinking often enough. I would get insane headaches and feel light headed all the time. I couldn’t wear my contacts for more than 20 minutes without being in pain. My eyes would just water and water and water at night. So, I did what any person would do and started doing some research on the effects of technology on our eyesight. Digital Eye Strain is definitely a problem and an even worse one for those of us who have no choice but to be glued to a computer at all times! And this can be SO scary – Digital Eye Strain can cause headaches, blurry vision, dry eyes, and so much more. (Aka every symptom I was having) When I realized how much my eyes were bothering me, I knew this would be a great collab. Like I always say, everything happens for a reason. My eyes were bright red for months, I had to go back and forth to the optometrist almost every week for 10 weeks. They kept giving me eye drops that weren’t working. I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup or contacts for months. I honestly can’t believe I waited THIS long to read into it – I mean, our eyeballs so important (!!!)
