Hi, friends.
Welcome back or welcome if you’re new here. My name’s Lex and I’m so glad you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. For those of you who have been readers of mine for a while know that during this time every year I try my very hardest to start eating cleaner. I use this time as a fresh start to fix the bad habits I have created. As well as, getting into a normal gym routine to prepare for the upcoming warmer months and usually I’m pretty successful in doing so. Last year was the only year I wasn’t able to get into this routine (thanks semester from hell), but I told myself I wasn’t allowing that to happen again. It’s not good for my mental or physical health — or anyways for that matter. It wasn’t until I saw a fellow blogger pal of mine who started her health jounrney, that I felt so inspired. I leave a link to her blog below! So for the last month, I have been creating a routine for myself, a positive weight loss journey or a “get healthy and take care of your body” journey. I’m here to finally share with y’all that I did to lose 10 pounds in a month!
For starters, you’re probably wondering why I waited a whole month to start sharing my tips with Y’all and that’s because I wanted to make sure I actually stuck to it for a whole month. Lemme tell ya, it is not easy to start the routine, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll wonder why you didn’t start ealier! I decided I wanted to make this a series on the blog because it’s truly been consuming my life in the most positive way and I love sharing my real self with my readers.
So for today’s post, I’m going to share what I have been typically eating in a day this past month that essentially made me lose weight. I hope y’all enjoy. I can’t wait to continue this journey and share with you gals every step of the way.
Breakfast:
Eggs and toast are a breakfast I’ve been eating religiously every morning since I started this healthy lifestyle change.
Lunch:
One of my favortie foods? Pasta salad. BUT I’m trying to watch the unnecessary carbs, SO I made pasta salad without the pasta and heavy on the cucumbers, gotta get those veggies in as much as possible.
Dinner:
Again, another favortie food of mine? Spaghetti. I seriously love all things noodles, which is essentially why I wanted to make this change for myself. Noodles are fine to eat in moderation, but I ate them way too much. I found that a good subsitute for my noodle obsession is “zoodles” aka zucchini noodles. I get these ones at Fresh Thyme and the package is good for about 3 meals. I put them with a yummy red sauce, heat it up in a pan for about 10 minutes (sometimes addicting garlic powder and mozzarella cheese) and my dinner is ready!
Snack:
I’m not one to love candy, but I crave chocolate pretty often. Peanut butter is one of my favortie snacks ever to fill this sweet tooth craving. This peanut butter is from Fresh Thyme and its so FREAKIN’ good!
As a disclaimer, I know body posts could be a trigger for some people who struggle with body issues. Please don’t allow my blog space to hit you in any way other than a positive journey. Anyone reading this is perfect the way they are — clothes don’t fit anymore? You’re not the same size as you were in high school? GOOD! We’re growing women and things change. That’s how it’s suppose to be. Stop worrying about the scale or the sizing, focus on being healthy. Don’t ever starve yourself, fuel your body with things that make you feel good. If you want something, eat it. Find a balance. Take care of yourself first and the weight will come off as a plus, you’ll be happier, everything will fall into place as soon as you start loving your body the way it deserves. No specific number on the scale will create happiness, it’s YOU that will create your own happiness. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and if you’re happy, that’s the most important thing. If you’re not, work hard to change it, but love yourself along the way. Love every step of the process. Create a healthy lifestyle for yourself. Sending you all so much love and encouragement. Xo.
Well, that’s all in today’s post. My thankfulness for your support is endless. Don’t forget to leave links to your blogs and instas, as I would love to check them out and follow you all and connect more. As always, feel free to shoot me a message with blog requests, to chat, or share a simple comment. Sending lots of love and positive thoughts to you guys now and always. We will talk soon.
Stay chic,
Lexi 🌻
