Hi, friends.
How is everyone doing? Good, I hope!
Since we last spoke, things have gotten a little crazy for me as I’m sure it has for all of you, given the circumstances we are in. I thought it was about time for us to catch up and share with y’all a life update. As many of you know, I was in the process of adjusting to a new semester, living on my own, and all the responsibilities that come with those changes. For whatever reason, change always makes me excited but it takes me a while to adjust. I was finally getting in the groove of things and now, we’re on quarantine.
Things in the world have gotten crazy lately and I hope everyone is staying home and staying safe during this time of uncertainty. For those of you still working, know how thankful we are for all of you. I’m not working and I’m finishing up my spring semester online. My classes end on the 28th and then we move into finals and personally, I couldn’t be happier. I’m a fan of online classes since I’m such a homebody, but not a fan when regular classes are forced online without any structure. It has been a challenge for me to understand the material, teach myself, and even plan out when assignments are due. But, I’m sure professors are feeling the same way because they didn’t have any time to prepare for this either. So needless to say, I’m very excited to be finished with this challenging semester and have a break.
Other than that, I’ve been good and staying safe. I’ve used this time to organize things in my house, learn to cook, cleaning everything possible, DIY-ing, and doing a bunch of unnecessary online shopping. I’ve fallen back in love with old shows, The Mentalist being #1 in my heart (and highly recommended btw). On the days that are full of sunshine, I head to a local park and go for a walk/run. I try to stay busy and make to-do lists to keep myself motivated. It’s important to wake up, make your bed, shower, and get yourself dressed. Neutrogena’s tinted moisturizer, mascara, and those robe curls everyone’s been doing from TikTok have turned into my daily beauty routine. I make sure to talk with my friends and family regularly to ensure I have human interaction and don’t become a total hermit. This is a scary time in the world, but I’ve been trying my best to stay productive and positive for the time being.
So, aside from that update, I wanted to rewind a little to before quarantine. Back to a coffee date I had and share my outfit with y’all. I took these pictures on Spring break which was right before all the craziness happened, but they’re definitely still blog-worthy. So without further ado, grab yourself a warm cup of coffee, and let’s jump into the post!
Outfit Details: Jeans: American Eagle, Sweater: Rue 21, Boots: DSW
This is a local coffee shop that I had been dying to try for the longest time, but they close early in the day and during spring break I finally had the time to check it out. This little cozy coffee shop completely lived up to my expectations. It had large windows that welcomed in sunlight and a friendly atmosphere with white walls, vintage furniture, and a delicious menu. Once we get passed all of this craziness, I won’t hesitate to head there with my laptop ready to start my online summer assignments. I wore my favorite black mom jeans with a patterned sweater that I picked up during Black Friday. It was a perfect outfit for a chilly March morning.
I mean y’all, how aesthetically pleasing is this coffee shop? The natural light and marble had my heart so happy. It used to be a school at one time and then it was restructured to the beauty it is today and I think all of us locals are happy about the repurposing of the old run-down building.
