Welcome back or welcome if you’re new here. Since we last spoke, my vacation tan has faded a bit, my hair has gotten a little darker, and I’ve rearranged too many things in my house. I’m hoping to plan a weekend away for my birthday, but for now, it’s the little things that are making me happy. I mean, y’all, Taylor Swift surprised us all with a new album and my heart feels so complete. I think we can all agree that every T-swift album takes us back to special moments in our lives. Your first crush, your first boyfriend, your first heartbreak, the good ole age of twenty-two… you know that feeling of nostalgia that I’m talking about. Folklore will take me back to this very moment in my life and right now, I like where I am. I just surpassed one year of living on my own and the amount of growth I’ve made this past year is more than I could’ve ever imagined. So, here’s to another memorable Taylor Swift era.
A little fun fact, my dad and I both loved her music and would blast it in the car, we’d scream love story on a regular basis. It’s amazing how music can take you back to moments you didn’t realize you’d cherish. Folklore is a grown-up, folk/acoustic version of Red and that’s what I needed to fulfill me with happiness. With the current situations in the world, things seem a bit different. It’s hard to go out and do things, school will be different next semester and our typical normalcy just isn’t available right now. It’s important to still do things that’ll make you happy.
A local farm decided to allow visitors for free to walk the fields, take as many pictures as they wanted, and pick some sunflowers for $1! It was just what I needed and I know all my other locals needed it too. So Pittsburgh people, get yourself over to this farm. It’s free until August 1st! My readers who are further away, find a flower field and go frolic through it, it’ll be the mood boost you didn’t realize you needed!
