Hi loves! 💪🏽🍌🍉🍋🍎
Happy Hump day ya’ll! I have another blog post relating to trying to become a healthier version of myself! I’m going to show you all how I prepared some meals for myself in order to not over eat or make an excuse that I don’t have time to cook! (I’m very guilty of this) Disclaimer: I am in no way saying you need to eat like this or that this is the correct way to eat. I know people have different knowledge of heathy ways to eat than I do and that’s perfectly fine, I’m just sharing what works for me! This is definitely healthier than what I used to eat. So let’s get into what I made 😁💪🏽
I’m the type of person who is some what nervous to cook because I’m so unfimilar with it! This is a new learning experience for me for sure. I put some chicken into the oven, to season it I used Mrs. Dash Chicken Grilling Blend: Salt Free (which is super good!!) I steamed some brown rice, as well as green beans and broccoli! I’m honestly not a huge meat eater so I only made chicken enough for three meals, and used the rice and broccoli as an entire meal because that’s what I like! So those will be my dinners.
For my lunches: I cut up some strawberries and put them into three separate containers and I’ll eat that with whole wheat bread and peanut butter! I bought the little jiff to-go packs so it’s easier for me. 😊
For my breakfast: I will be eating an egg and a piece of whole wheat toast! I also don’t use butter because I really don’t even notice the difference with out it. When I don’t have time to cook a breakfast (sometimes I like to sleep as late as possible) I bought fiber bars and bananas so I can grab and eat them on the go!
I cut up lemons so I can put them in my water or my tea! I also heard sweet potato fries are really good and better for you than regular fries so I made some and put them into a container incase I want to switch up my lunches! Since I love cheese so much and won’t ever give that up, I bought string cheese to have with my lunches or as a snack!
Meal prepping is something I would recommend for a busy college student who wants to lose a few before summer rolls around, it helps me not over eat and save money from not going out to eat! Do it on your day off, it’s honestly not even as time consuming as you’d think! It’s also super inexpensive, I spent a little under $30 at the grocery store. All these containers are from target and they came in a pack for only $3.99! 🙆🏼 When you eat better, you feel better in so many different ways.
Alright loves, that’s all I have for this post! I hope you enjoyed this update and try out meal prepping! 😋 Let me know if you’d like to see something like this again. Don’t forget to shoot me a message with blog requests, to chat, or share a simple comment! I’ll be talking to you all soon. xoxo.
Stay chic,
Lexi 🌻 xo
Hey there Lexi! I do meal prep too but more of a daily basis now, my parents are always worried I will end up poisoning myself if I keep the food for too long lol. 😂 I used to do it like twice a week (once on Wed night and on Sun night), just prepared only strictly chicken breast with black pepper, or lemon juice + rosemary and tons of brocolli. I think one trouble with meal prep is that when I was a student, I tend to spend the entire day out and have trouble keeping cooked food fresh. What’s your take on that (:
Ps gonna follow you on my Instagram (:
You have a very valid point! 😊 I guess meal prep all depends on ones schedule. I commute to school and I work full time so I find it easier for me to have meals prepared ahead of time or else I’ll just run and grab food real quick somewhere else (spending money I shouldn’t be spending/ eating too much orrrr making something quick and easy like Mac and cheese or hot pockets etc.) My food never leaves my fridge unless I take it to work and put it in the fridge there! With meal prepping with my schedule it seems to be very beneficial for myself, but it’s going to vary with everyone! And awe okay, I’ll follow ya back 🙆🏼💛
You’re right, eating clean and right gives a different feeling. Everything feels so good with life!
I couldn’t agree more!!
