Hi, friends.
Welcome back or welcome if you’re new here. It’s a beautiful Sunday morning, the air has a cozy crisp to it this morning and if I’m being honest, it feels like a perfect fall day. I’m listening to Taylor Swift’s new album, which is amazing, sipping on some iced coffee, thinking it’s about time we caught up on life. It’s been so crazy these last few weeks as I adjust to living outside of my childhood home, but it’s been exciting, to say the least. My summer internship has come to an end, however, I’m keeping it part-time for the fall semester, about 15 hours a week. Then, my fall semester starts on Monday. Wow, y’all. I literally blinked and summer is just about over. Other than that, I have been doing nonstop decorating since moving in and I can finally say things are starting to come together, everything’s turning out better than I could’ve imagined it. I have gotten a ton of requests to post an apartment tour and I thought what better time than now. I’m so excited to show y’all how everything came together from my Pinterest Boards to real-life coziness!
When I was shopping for house decor, I couldn’t decide if I wanted my theme to be boho or farmhouse, so my simple solution was to mix them together. Decorating has always been one of my favorite things to do and being able to decorate a whole house sparked my inner Pinterest loving self. However, Mikey and I did hit a little bump in the road in our first week. He got into an accident at work and had to zoom off to the emergency room. Thankfully, his injury is not as bad as it was originally thought out to be, but he is on crutches and in a boot with a broken leg. So, feel free to send speedy recovery wishes his way.
As a first-time decorator, I learned that furnishing a house can get expensive. Quickly. So, I had so much fun putting this together in a budget-friendly way. I started shopping as soon as we signed the lease. And my favorite stores to get home décor at are easily Gabe’s, Marshalls/Homegoods, Big Lots and Burlington, budget friendly and I found so many great pieces at these stores! So, if you’re moving out and ballin’ on a budget, these are the places to go. If anyone would be interested in how I decorated on a budget and planned everything out, just let me know and I can make a separate post about that! In my home, I was lucky enough to get my own “office/closet” and I want to make that entire separate post, so stay tuned for an office/closet tour following this in the next couple weeks! I’ll link everything down below that I can. Other than that, enjoy my house tour, xo.
